Forensic Physics is directly or indirectly about physics. Forensic Physics involved the ratio of the density (soil & glass examination), Refractive index of the material, and birefringence for fiber examination, temperature, luminescence, resistivity, elasticity, comparison, etc. Department of Forensic Physics deals with the physical evidence that are associated to physics. Physical evidence which are found from crime scene are like paint, glass, soil, fibre, thread, Rope, etc. The Forensic Physics course comprises of physics, electronics, ballistics, Photography elements, crime scene reconstruction and many Devices used in investigation.
With development in forensic science in the past year, there is need for making a collection of data where all the information can be preserved. National Museum of Forensic Science is created while keeping this in mind. It contains information from many cases from different fields of forensic science including forensic chemistry, forensic toxicology, questioned document, forensic ballistics, and many more. This data will help forensic enthusiasts, school students to clear concepts of different sciences and will guide types of evidences found in forensic science.
